Celeste Headlee

Excited to announce that Award-Winning Celeste Headlee will be the Master of Ceremonies for TEDxAugusta!

Award-winning journalist, executive producer and radio host, and author of Heard Mentality and We Need To Talk.
Celeste Headlee is the Executive Producer and host of “On Second Thought” at Georgia Public Broadcasting in Atlanta and has been a host and correspondent for NPR and PRI since 2006. Headlee’s anchoring at NPR includes “The Takeaway,” as well as “Tell Me More,” “Talk of the Nation,” and “Weekend Edition.” She has trained journalists through NPR’s Next Generation program since 2006. Headlee also has appeared as a guest on CNN, the BBC, and other international networks, and in 2012, she anchored presidential election coverage for PBS World.
Following her TedxCreativeCoast talk in 2015, ted.com featured her presentation, “10 Ways to Have a Better Conversation,” which has been viewed more than 11 million times. CNBC voted Celeste as having one of the most watched TED talks in 2016 and Glassdoor named Celeste as having the #1 must-watch TED talk for every recruiter and hiring manager.  Now, Headlee speaks to groups across the globe about the art of conversation and focused listening.  Her first book, Heard Mentality, was released in May 2016.  Her second book, We Need To Talk – How To Have Conversations That Matter is a practical guide to the lost art of conversation and will be released by Harper Wave on September 19, 2017.
